Learn Ealing continues to deliver courses face-to-face and through its online offer. We will deliver lessons and support learners through the use of Google Education suite, Zoom, Skype and other digital platforms.

To participate in online classes you will need an email address, a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop/tablet/mobile phone with fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome).  Your device will need a microphone and preferably a camera.

Description

The aim of the assessment is to check your current level of skills and knowledge to make sure that the course you are interested in is suitable for you.

The assessment helps you and your tutors make sure that the course is the correct level for where you are in your learning journey. This way, you can get the most out of your course and feel comfortable as you learn and progress with us.  

Who needs an assessment?
If you are interested in a qualification course for example, Functional Skills English, Maths, ESOL or a Vocational course then you re required to complete an assessment to confirm if you meet the entry requirements.

What to bring on the day
The courses we deliver are funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), we are required to check that each learner is eligible to receive this funding. On the day of your assessment you must take the following documents with you: 1. Proof of your status in the UK (EEA or British Passport\BRP\Home Office Documents) 2. National Insurance Number (card, payslip or letter) ESOL Learners: If you are unemployed or on low income, please bring any of the documents to allow us to claim full funding for the ESOL course: 1. Universal Credit 2. Job Seeker’s Allowance (benefit letters have to be dated within the last 3 months) 3. Salary under £23,302.50 (employment contract or 3 recent payslips)

What to expect on the day
You are required to complete the following for English and ESOL: - Speaking & listening assessment with a tutor - Reading & Writing assessment - Maths online assessment (if you are enrolled on a maths assessment) - ICTassessment (if you are enrolled on an ICT assessment) Please note: - Functional Skills and ESOL courses are free - The team will enrol you on the day - There are charges for the Vocational courses and you will need to complete a Direct Debit form on the day - Please allow maximum 2 hours to complete the assessment and enrolment - Children and additional adults will not be permitted in the assessment room If you have further questions you can contact the Learn Ealing team on 020 8825 5577 or learnealing.gov.uk
